Postnatal doula in Kent and Medway

Practical, calm help at home in the weeks after birth — £30 an hour, minimum four hours per visit.

The first weeks at home are the part nobody prepares you for. Visitors come to see the baby and somehow you are the one making the tea.

A postnatal doula comes to look after you. That might be a meal, a shower, two hours of sleep while I hold the baby, help with feeding, or a conversation about a birth that did not go as you hoped.

Who I support

  • Families without relatives nearby
  • Mothers recovering from a caesarean or a difficult birth
  • Parents of twins
  • Mothers managing alone while a partner returns to work
  • Families with older children who still need their parents

What a visit can include

  • Food cooked, laundry done, the kitchen made usable again
  • Holding the baby so you can sleep, shower or eat with both hands
  • Feeding support, whether breastfeeding, bottle or both
  • Settling, bathing and understanding your baby's cues
  • Time to talk about your birth, as many times as you need
  • Help with the older children in the first days

Common questions

How soon can you start?

As soon as you are home, and often sooner if we have already met during pregnancy. Some families book postnatal support before the birth.

Do you do nights?

Daytime visits are what I offer most. Ask me about nights and we will see what is possible.

Is it too late if my baby is three months old?

Not at all. The fourth trimester lasts longer than most people are told, and support helps at any point in it.
