Payment
Payment options
How payment works, what secures your date and when the balance is due. If anything here is unclear, please ask before you book — nothing is agreed until it is agreed in writing.
How to pay
I send a secure payment link from my Revolut business account, by email or by message. You open the link and pay the way that suits you — debit or credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a bank transfer.
You do not need a Revolut account to use the link, and there is no booking fee or card surcharge. The price you are quoted is the amount you pay.
If you would rather pay by direct bank transfer, tell me and I will send the account details separately. I never ask for card details by phone, email or message, and you should never send them to me.
Currency and receipts
All prices are quoted and charged in pounds sterling (GBP).
You receive a written invoice before each payment and a receipt after it. Keep these — some employers and health insurers, including Carrot, will reimburse doula support against them.
Deposit and balance
For birth support, a deposit secures your date and takes me off the market for the weeks around it. The balance is due before your baby is due.
The exact deposit, the balance and the dates they fall are set out in your service agreement, which you receive and sign before any money changes hands.
Courses, single sessions and postnatal hours are usually paid in full when they are booked.
Paying in instalments
If paying in one or two amounts is difficult, say so at the consultation. I would far rather arrange a schedule that works than have cost be the reason a family goes without support.
Changes, cancellations and refunds
Birth is unpredictable, and so is life. What happens if you cancel, if I am unable to attend, or if your plans change is written into the service agreement in plain language, and I will talk you through it before you sign.
Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by anything on this page or in the agreement.
Questions about money are welcome
Cost matters, and asking about it is not awkward. Bring it to the free consultation and we will be straightforward with each other.
